What Is Coaching?
Broadly speaking, coaching allows you to reflect and gain awareness about yourself, your values, your strengths, your challenges, the options available to you, and what action you can take to make the changes you want in your business or personal life. Instead of relying on training or instruction to impart knowledge to you, coaching focuses on helping you identify your goals, assess your strengths, identify your areas for improvement, and devise a plan to achieve them. A coach provides a safe, creative and non-judgemental environment, asking thought-provoking questions and listening to help you explore, reflect, and make better decisions.

What drew you to Lisa's services?
Our company regularly holds forums for people managers (usually 3 x 1-day sessions per year). In one of these, they mentioned coaching, the benefits of it along the fact that the company would support these services if people wanted to use them. I was a little uncertain and may be sceptical about it as I’d not done anything like that before. I did however recognise that I was really busy at work to the point that on some days I didn’t feel I’d really achieved anything. I reached out to Lisa see what the coaching could offer and took it from there.

What was your biggest challenge prior to working with Lisa?
I was struggling to manage my time effectively (managing at the time 14 people directly). I also felt pressured with a variety of activities, deadlines etc and often felt it difficult to say no to others in the senior leadership team.

What changed after working with Lisa?
Through the coaching sessions (4 in total) I was able to get to the bottom of the issues. I likened it to peeling back layers from an onion, strange I know, but each session explored a little further into what made me function rather than just task-orientated prioritisation.

What specific results can you share?
Each session culminated with creating a small action plan to test and learn from some changes. It made me challenge existing ways of working and build confidence that I had the opportunity to create a change so I could be more effective. Following the coaching sessions, I was able to focus on some key goals and structure my time more effectively, I was confident in the delegation of the task along with challenging others but doing so with respect and honesty.

This was my first time at coaching and would explore this again. For anyone unsure I would say give it go, embrace the time to focus on yourself and using Lisa’s help to understand what you can do differently. It will feel strange trying to take a step back from the chaos of the day to day but the fact you’ve thought about coaching suggests it’s something that you would benefit from. Lisa is a very engaging individual who respects that you may not feel fully comfortable with the process at first but she asks some simple questions to help build the picture of the support you need. How is the research conducted?
Initially, we collect proof of coaches' training certificates and conduct an online and background check. Our approach isn't a simple google search; we also probe deep into the areas where their past clients most likely reside to find their feedback too. After that, we personally gather feedback from past clients and do further research on those types of clients to discover who works best with the coach and what they are recommended for.

What's the goal of Credible Coach?
We want to arm you with the information you need to make an informed decision. The industry has become more advanced in terms of sales and marketing, our approach is to concentrate on the things that really matter, past client results, and coaching abilities. It's our mission to protect you and ensure you only work with coaches who provide proof of their claims, which have been checked and verified. Coaches who are doing exceptional work we want to recognise them for the impact they're making.  

Are coaches held accountable on Credible Coach?
Yes, this is why each coach has a link to our website, not a PDF report. As a result, we can continually ensure that coaches are held to a high standard and maintain a continuous feedback loop. If a complaint is received, we will investigate it immediately.

Professional Bodies and Coaching Registers

Association for Coaching
One of the leading professional bodies for coaches and organisations, with a purpose of inspiring and championing coaching excellence in a bid to advance the coaching profession and make a positive and lasting difference.

Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS)
The Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS) is the professional body for executive coaching and for the supervision of executive coaches. The not-for-profit organisation aims to set high professional standards for executive coaching and requires members to adhere by its Code of Ethics and Conduct.

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP Coaching)
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. The Association is made up of a number of different membership categories, e.g. Associate Member, Member (MBACP), Accredited Member (MBACP Accred), with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association. All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)
The European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) exists to promote, develop and set the expectation for good coaching and mentoring practice in the UK.

UK International Coach Federation (ICF)
The International Coach Federation is the professional association for personal and business coaches worldwide. Formed back in 1995 the Federation now has over 16,000 members and is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high professional standards, providing certification and building a network of credentialed coaches.

International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring (IAPC&M)
The IAPC&M is an internationally focused organisation run by professional coaches whose aim it is to build, maintain and raise awareness of the coaching practice.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
The UKCP exists to promote and maintain the profession of psychotherapy and the highest standards in the practice of psychotherapy throughout the United Kingdom. Registration with UKCP is obtained through one of their Member Organisations and each practitioner must maintain membership of a Member Organisation to maintain their UKCP Registration. They must adhere to approved Codes of Ethics and Practice and be accountable to UKCP Complaints and Appeals Procedures.

The Association for NLP (ANLP)
The Association for Neuro Linguistic Programming (ANLP) is a UK Association for NLP Professionals. This organisation is a Community Interest Company, which means that they are recognised as a social enterprise which exists to enhance NLP and support the NLP community.

NLP Association of Excellence (NLPEA)
The NLP Association of Excellence (NLPEA) is a recognised accrediting body for Coaching and NLP. The key aims of the association are to provide ethical standards in the practice of NLP and coaching, and to protect and benefit the public through the registration of only qualified professionals.

International NLP Trainers Association (INLPTA)
International NLP Trainers Association (INLPTA) is an international association of NLP Trainers and Master Trainers who have agreed to abide by and uphold INLPTA's standards of quality, professionalism and ethics in their NLP training and in the conduct of their NLP business.
